Do they tell a story?
Miley Cyrus Tattoos: Wings
First, I want to dispel a myth of the tattoo world. In June of 2013, a photo showing a nude women with a striking resemblance to Miley Cyrus went viral. The woman wore two wing tattoos on her butt. Since this occurred shortly after a break-up with Liam Hemsworth, celebrity journalists everywhere posited that the image exacted revenge of some sort. Miley Cyrus went on to say she inked no such tattoos, and the image showed someone else—which represents the truth!

Miley Cyrus Finger Tattoos
Despite the stigma around finger tattoos, Miley Cyrus wears them with pride! Ink fills her fingers with small, sticker-like tattoo work. She currently wears an eye, a heart, an alien, a cross, a peace sign, and once, even a tongue! The two dashes on her fingers represent equality. The word ‘BAD’ pays tribute to Michael Jackson. She ended up covering the tongue with a delightful watermelon tattoo.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus Matching Tattoos
During their engagement, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus inked multiple matching tattoos. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth matching tattoos continue to pique our interest. A sugar skull tattoo rests on their ankles, and you can learn more about the meaning behind them in our Day of the Dead Tattoos feature. Along with that, they both wear tattoo quotes from a Theodore Roosevelt speech. The quotes directly follow each other and talk about victory and defeat. Someone who lives life experiences victory and defeat, while someone who lives safely experiences neither.

More Miley Cyrus Tattoos
Of course, with dozens of tattoos on her body, we still need to cover quite a few meanings! I gathered my favorites to show you.
- Miley Cyrus Tattoos: VIIXCI – As much as we want to know, this tattoo’s meaning remains hidden. Miley Cyrus never revealed its true meaning. The roman numerals make up gibberish, unless you separate them into different numbers. It could represent 5/2/1991, 6/1/1991, or 7/1991. All these dates take place before she entered the world, so I bet they represent her parents’ marriage or meeting.
- Miley Cyrus Tattoos: Vegemite – After spending tons of time with Hemsworth, Cyrus learned the wonders of Vegemite, and inked a retro vegemite tattoo on her left arm. However, the tattoo probably represents Hemsworth’s love of vegemite, rather than her own.
- Miley Cyrus Tattoos: Dog – The death of her beloved Klee Kai dog devastated Cyrus. She inked a tattoo in honor of the dog, named Floyd, to remember him forever.
Check out the rest of our images for all the Miley Cyrus tattoos. Of course, we thank her parents for raising her in a home accepting of the tattoo world. Cyrus continues to show the world that even famous celebrities appreciate the world of tattoos. With any luck, maybe one day we can wear short-sleeved shirts at work!
